Removal |
The side airbag cannot be disassembled from the seat back assembly, so replace the seat back assembly when replacing the side airbag. |
1. |
Disconnect the battery negative terminal, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning to work. |
2. |
Remove the front seat assembly. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Front seat assembly") |
3. |
Remove the seat back assembly. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Front seat back cover") |
4. |
Loosen the side air bag module nuts and then remove the air back module.

Installation |
1. |
Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning to work. |
2. |
Install the air back module and then tightening the side air bag module nuts.

3. |
Install the seat back assembly. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Front seat back cover") |
4. |
Install the front seat assembly. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Front seat assembly") |
5. |
Reconnect the battery negative terminal. |
6. |
After installing the side airbag (PAB), confirm proper system operation: • Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off. |
