Kia Niro: Engine Control System / Electric EGR Control Valve Repair procedures
[Motor]

Switch "OFF" the ignition.
|
2. |
Disconnect the EEGR valve connector.
|
3. |
Check if the EEGR valve is stuck by foreign material.
|
4. |
Measure the resistance between 1 and 3 control terminals of the motor.
|
5. |
Check that the resistance is within the specification.
Specification : 2.21 - 2.99 Ω [20°C (68 °F)]

1. |
Connect the KDS/GDS to the data link connector.
|
2. |
Fully open and fully close the EEGR valve by conducting the actuation
test.
|
3. |
Check that the voltage is within the specification

1. |
Switch "OFF" the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
|
2. |
EGR cooler pipe.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "EGR Cooler")
|
3. |
Remove the EEGR valve (B) after loosening the mounting bolts and nuts
(A).

Install the component to the specified torque.
|
• |
Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped.
In this case, use it after inspecting.
|
• |
Apply engine oil to the valve O-ring.
|
|
1. |
Install in the reverse order of removal.
|
