Kia Niro: Blind Spot Detection system (BSD) / Blind Spot Detection Unit Repair procedures

Removal
1.

Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

2.

Remove the rear bumper cover.

(Refer to Body - "Rear Bumper Cover")

3.

Disconnect the BSD connector (A).

4.

Remove the BSD unit (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.

Installation
1.

Place the RH and LH radar sensors on each side to get ready for installation.

2.

Install the radar sensor to the bracket correctly (distinguish RH & LH) with mounting nuts.

  

The shapes of the LH and RH blind spot detection units are different. Therefore, take notice when installing the blind spot detection units.

Radar Sensors must be closed up against the bracket completely.

After mounting radar sensors, check for looseness.

3.

Install the rear bumper cover.

4.

Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.
